Supported by Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD), Kelab YSD–Kakiseni Junior is expanding access to arts education in urban poor and rural schools across Malaysia, helping students build confidence, creativity, and self-expression through the arts; complementing the science in their academic studies.

To date, the programme has established arts clubs in 29 schools nationwide, engaging 874 students while training 58 teachers and empowering 32 resident artists to sustain arts education beyond the project period.

The programme also developed a free-to-access syllabus, teaching manual, and workbook, which are available to everyone on the Kakiseni Junior website (https://www.kakisenijunior.com/) to ensure long-term accessibility and sustainability. Teachers and artists have observed students becoming more confident, expressive, and engaged through activities such as theatre, dance, and Wayang Kulit.
